TravelPerx are delighted to announce that they have been selected to support the Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) as they unveil investment in digital transport solutions, following the successful funding awarded for the innovative Mobility as a Service (MaaS) pilots.
HITRANS have secured just under £1 million from the Scottish Government’s MaaS Investment Fund to improve access to transport across Scotland. The funding will see an extension for HITRANS to their current “GO-HI” pilot to include additional transport modes, smart card integration and a demand responsive transport solution for rural and island regions.
As part of the extensive pilot the new funding will include a reward and incentivisation programme which will be led by ProxiSmart, utilising their innovative app, TravelPerx, to encourage sustainable travel by users. The multi-award-winning tech company will come onboard to support HITRANS, with the rollout of TravelPerx starting in 2022. The project will see the North East based business, which was founded by Chris Reed, working with key transport providers including ScotRail and Stagecoach, across seven local authorities and alongside two Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) in Scotland.
The sister app of ParkingPerx, which launched successfully in Sunderland in December 2020, TravelPerx is a ground-breaking solution designed to help save UK high streets. It allows businesses to reward shoppers with free travel when they spend on their local high street, incentivising the take up of sustainable transport options and shopping locally; a win-win for shoppers, businesses and the environment.
